Around 75 participants attended a series of trainings organized by CNVP Kosovo in cooperation with association Organika for sustainable collection of NWFPs, cultivation of MAPs and organic certification. Training sessions were held between November and December in three regions of Kosovo, Pristina, Prizren and Kamenica, within the framework of the SUNREED project funded by the Embassy of Sweden in Pristina.

Target groups of these trainings were women producers, Women Youth Producer Groups (WYPGs) and vulnerable communities including municipal officers responsible for extension services.

Main topics covered include good collection practices of NWFPs, cultivation methods of MAPs, NWFPs with economic potential and organic certification & requirements from EU regulation.

Different materials (including leaflets, brochures and a checklist for documents which are needed for organic certification) were prepared and distributed to participants in order for them to have more information about the sustainable collection of NWFP and organic agriculture.

The aim of these trainings was to raise the awareness of participants, about the importance of the organic agriculture, cultivation of MAPs, collection of NWFP, post-harvesting, drying, storage and packaging processes.
