On the 13-14 of April 2022, CNVP Kosovo facilitated the first cross-border meeting of representatives of LAG and model actors from Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia in the Sharr-Korab-Koritnik Nature Park.

The meeting was organized in the framework of the "Sustainable future for Sharr-Korab-Koritnik" project, funded by the DBU, Jensen-Funds, and EURONATUR.
The project supports the establishment of Local Action Groups (LAGs) in Kosovo and Albania as well as the existing LAG Friends of Shara (FOSH) in North Macedonia for the Shar/ Korab-Koritnik region. These activities are apart from 13 model projects that are being implemented by local actors on the topics of livestock & beekeeping, cultivation, and tourism.
The LAGs consist of local stakeholders of different backgrounds (NGOs, tourism providers, etc.), which share the common vision of bringing forward and lobbying for nature conservation and sustainable use of the natural resources in the region. Different supporting cross-border activities are taking place and further improving the implementation as well as the transboundary cooperation, learning, and exchange between the model projects. These sectors will not only affect the sustainable development of these areas but will also include residents and cross-border experts for better interaction.

During this meeting, the representatives of each LAG exchanged and discussed negative and positive developments and actions in the region pointing out the management of protected areas. They also shared their successes, developments, activities, expert engagement, and challenges for better determination of the further steps to be implemented in the area. This creates a stronger connection at the regional level of the respective topic with the local model projects.
CNVP Kosovo will continue to support project beneficiaries with capacity development measures, promotion of their products, and cross-border activities in promoting regional development.
