Workshop on Joint Forest Management in Kosovo

A workshop on Joint Forest Management (JFM) was held during 1-3 February 2019 in Durres, Albania. It was attended by staff of the Kosovo Forest Agency (KFA), the National Association of Private Forestry Owners, and CNVP Kosovo.

The purpose of the workshop was to discuss achievements, challenges, recommendations and next steps concerning JFM, including the promotion of fast growing trees in Kosovo.

The workshop discusssed the process of JFM, legal issues, management plan preparation, and field implementation, as well as the tasks and responsibilities of associated institutions, beneficiaries and local communities.

KFA’s 2019 annual plans for forest management were presented at the workshop, including activities related to JFM and based on best practice models currently used in 11 municipalities.

The event was organised within the framework of the Strengthening Sustainable Private and Decentralised Forestry (SSPDF) project that is funded by the Embassy of Sweden in Pristina and implemented by CNVP Kosovo.
