CNVP North Macedonia is implemented a project ‘’ Capacity Building Programme for Sustainable Tourism with focus on Non-Timber Forest Products’’.  The project is part of the #EUforPrespa programme, funded by the Delegation of the European Union to North Macedonia and implemented by UNDP MK in partnership with the CNVP Foundation.

Period of implementation: 26.06.2025 – 31.12.2026

The project aims to boost the local economy in the Prespa region through the sustainable use of non-timber forest products (NTFPs) and the development of local value chains for Prespa products. It promotes indigenous cuisine, handicrafts, and natural resources as key drivers for economic development and environmental protection.

Through targeted capacity building, market linkages, and innovation, the project supports local stakeholders in improving the processing, packaging, branding, and marketing of NTFPs. It also fosters cooperation among collectors, producers, traders, and organizations across the transboundary Prespa region.

Overall Objective

To improve living conditions in the Prespa region through a sustainable and transboundary development approach.

Specific Objective

SO2: To boost sustainable economic activities and improve the prosperity of people in Prespa.

Expected Result

R2.1: Environmentally friendly agriculture promoted.

Project Outputs

  • Output 2.1.1: Improved branding and marketing of Prespa local products and NTFPs, with a focus on environmental protection and women’s engagement
  • Output 2.1.2: Sustainable use and cultivation of NTFPs promoted and practiced
  • Output 2.1.3: Cross-border cooperation established and strengthened

The project promotes an inclusive approach, with a strong focus on women and young people, while remaining open to all community members.
