Building on our commitment to celebrate International Earth Day through meaningful action, CNVP Kosovo is marking this global day with energy and purpose through a joint initiative with the University of Prizren “Ukshin Hoti”.

This year’s motto, “Our Power, Our Planet,” reminds us that real change starts with collective action.

Today is more than a celebration - it is a reminder that the health of our ecosystems is inseparable from the well-being of our communities. By coming together with students, professors, environmental professionals, and partners, we are investing in knowledge, responsibility, and collective action for a more sustainable future.

The day began with inspiring reflections from CNVP Kosovo and the University, showcasing that meaningful change grows from collaboration and the strength of local voices.

Prof. Dr. Faruk Bojaxhiu led a session on natural heritage, speaking about how protecting ecosystems is not only about conservation, but about safeguarding livelihoods, culture, and resilience for generations to come. The interactive discussion that followed showed curiosity and commitment among participants to be part of that change.

The day continued outdoors in the Vranishte area of Prizren, where students took part in afforestation efforts - turning awareness into real impact and reinforcing the idea that every action, no matter how small, helps restore balance with nature.

Today’s program also included presentations on CNVP’s work, interactive discussions, and a student-led awareness video - creating space for connection, reflection, and exchange of new ideas.

This initiative was supported by the projects “Vital Pastures in Transboundary Sharr/Korab/Koritnik/Mavrovo” supported by Aage V. Jensen Charity Foundation and Nando & Elsa Peretti Foundation, as well as the "Integraged Forest Management Along the Drin River Basin" project, co-financed by ADA, managed by ICEP.
