We're out in the field at Agroproduct shpk where innovation meets cultivation, organized by our partners Organika Association and Agroproduct.
Today, farmers, agricultural advisors, and experts are exploring our demonstration plot equipped with agrotekstil and drip irrigation – part of an innovative approach supported by the SUNREED project, implemented by CNVP Kosovo, and funded by the Embassy of Sweden in Pristina.
The main focus was on addressing plant toxins, which pose a significant challenge for exporting Kosovo’s Non-Wood Forest Products (NWFPs) and Medicinal & Aromatic Plants (MAPs).
Agrotekstil used here is a specially designed agricultural fabric used to control weed growth and create ideal growing conditions. It combats weeds/plants containing harmful PA and TA alkaloids, and red uces chemical use, improving crop quality and yield, protecting plants from environmental stress, and supporting eco-friendly farming.
Live demos, expert discussions, and knowledge-sharing are in full swing – covering how agrotekstil is installed, what challenges farmers may face, and how to scale its application across the sector.
Farmers are actively engaging, asking questions, and exploring how these practices can transform their production and make Kosovo’s exports more competitive.
