Last week, CNVP Kosovo had the pleasure of hosting representative from the Embassy of Sweden in Pristina for a field visit to two of our key beneficiaries under the Partnership Agreements: Bletaria Etniki and Aldijana, both located in the Prizren municipality.

The visit began at Bletaria Etniki, a family-run beekeeping enterprise dedicated to honey production, environmental education, and the management of a growing chestnut plantation.

Bletaria Etniki has achieved several impactful milestones by expanding chestnut plantation by 0.5 hectares and 30% increase in honey production. The seasonal employment opportunities for the local community is increased, including the production of new small packages with honey. Progress is noted on delivering educational/awareness training to  primary and secondary school students for  biodiversity and  pollinators.

The second visit took place in Shterpce, where Aldijana has established a secondary collection point for non-wood forest products such as berries, mushrooms, and herbs. Through the implementation of the partnership agreement, Aldijana has demonstrated notable progress, including Increased sales performance, expansion of export agreements with both local/regional partners and entry into international markets and a growing number of local farmers engaged in the collection and supply chain

These initiatives are part of the SUNREED project (Sustainable Use Of Natural Resources for Environment and Economic Development), implemented by CNVP Kosovo and financed by the Embassy of Sweden in Pristina (Sida).

This visit was a valuable opportunity for the Embassy to see firsthand the impact of their support and the success of these sustainable, community-driven initiatives.

A big thank you to Bletaria Etniki and Aldijana for welcoming us and for their inspiring work advancing sustainable agri-businesses and strengthening rural communities.
