In the heart of the Korab-Koritnik Nature Park, in the village of Orgjost, Zapod Administrative Unit, Kukës Municipality, a local family is writing a positive story about sustainable rural development. The family of Agron Mustafa is one of the beneficiaries of the project “Increasing Beekeeping Activities in These Areas,” which aims to protect biodiversity and support local economic growth through sustainable use of natural resources.

With support from CNVP Foundation, the Mustafa family received 13 beehives and one electric honey extractor. This equipment made the honey collection process easier and faster. But more importantly, it was the family’s passion for beekeeping that helped them improve their income and create a more stable economic activity.

Today, thanks to their dedication, the family owns over 50 beehives. This allows them to apply for subsidies from the Ministry of Agriculture and employ one family member full-time. The honey is packaged in glass jars, labeled with a local production logo, meeting market standards and offering a trusted product for consumers.

The Mustafa family is thankful to CNVP for the support received through this grant. They believe they will continue to expand their activity, as the results are already creating good income and new opportunities for the future.

This project is funded by the Prespa Ohrid Nature Trust (PONT) and implemented by CNVP Foundation.
