The focus is on the sustainable use of natural resources for cross-border socio-economic development of these protected areas.

These public primary and secondary schools will implement projects related to environmental education, sustainable use of non-timber forest products, and the promotion of eco-tourism and biodiversity, with the aim of protecting the environment and raising awareness among students in the regions of Mavrovo and Sharr Mountain National Parks.

The list of grant recipients includes:

  • Andrej Savevski Ķiķiš Municipal Primary School – Tetovo
  • Faik Konica Municipal Primary School – Dobrište, Tearce
  • Municipal Secondary School – Gostivar
  • Sabedin Bajrami Municipal Primary School – Kamenjane, Bogovinje

The grant recipients were selected through an open call under the project “Sustainable Use of Natural Resources in Sharr Mountain, Korab-Koritnik, and the Albanian Alps,” which is funded by the Prespa-Ohrid Nature Trust (PONT).
