CNVP Albania Hosts Workshop on Protecting Endangered Species and Habitats in Shala Valley

CNVP Albania organized today a pivotal workshop in Shkoder, bringing together key environmental stakeholders to address the threats facing the region’s valuable species and habitats.

Led by Prof. Ass. Dr. Marash Raka, the session presented findings from a detailed study, identifying critical conservation needs and strategies for habitat restoration. Participants included representatives from University "Luigj Gurakuqi" Shkodër, the Regional Agency of Protected Areas, Forest & Pasture Federations and Associations, local community members, CNVP, and local NGOs.

The discussions emphasized the importance of structured conservation actions, stakeholder collaboration, and local engagement to safeguard biodiversity. Experts outlined targeted restoration plans and mitigation strategies to address the pressing environmental challenges impacting Shala Valley.

This workshop, marks an essential step in ongoing conservation efforts, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the region’s ecosystems. Participants concluded with commitments to further assessments and restoration frameworks to preserve this unique natural heritage.
