This week, we were excited to welcome our donor, the Embassy of Sweden in Pristina, for a special visit to NTSH Dardani in Viti – one of our key partners in the SUNREED project, implemented by CNVP Kosovo.

We visited the company site in Drobesh, Vitia municipality, seeing firsthand how NTSH Dardani is leading the way in forest management, afforestation, and sustainable wood biomass production. With over 150 hectares of private forest, the company is turning unused forest residues into valuable energy sources – all while supporting jobs and local livelihoods.

From forest residues to biomass for heat energy purposes, NTSH Dardani is transforming unused resources into clean energy – while creating jobs and empowering communities.

On-site, the team demonstrated the implementation of forest management plans, part of ongoing investments supported through SUNREED. From a collection point equipped with weighing machinery to firewood processing, these improvements are making the biomass sector more efficient and environmentally friendly.

We continued to the forest of Korbuliq village, Kaqanik municipality, to see how silviculture activities have been carried out on 10 hectares of private forest, based on previously prepared management plans covering 193 hectares.

A huge thanks to our friends at the Embassy of Sweden in Pristina for your ongoing support and for joining us in the field to witness the impact of our collaboration!
