We are proud to announce the signing of a strategic partnership agreement between CNVP Kosovo and Minatory, a local wood processing company, to kickstart an ambitious new initiative - improving wood processing through new wood drying technology.

This partnership marks a major step forward in strengthening Kosovo’s wood processing sector by:

  • Reducing dependency on expensive imported dried wood
  • Enhancing the quality and competitiveness of local wood products
  • Supporting sustainable forest management through better use of locally sourced timber
  • Stimulating job creation and innovation across the entire supply chain

The new wood drying chambers will drastically improve drying efficiency and reduce contamination risks. More importantly, these facilities will also be accessible to smaller local wood processors, who will be encouraged to bring their wood for drying. It is expected to create a ripple effect of growth across the sector.

By making better use of locally harvested wood, we not only add value to what’s already available but also help protect our forests, support local communities, and open new doors to international markets.

Through co-investment, technical assistance, and capacity building, this initiative will create real impact: improving competitiveness, generating employment, and contributing to sustainable forest management.

It is an investment in sustainable forest management and long-term economic opportunity for Kosovo’s wood industry.

This initiative is supported by the Embassy of Sweden in Pristina (Sida) through the SUNREED project (Sustainable Use of Natural Resources for Environment and Economic Development), implemented by CNVP Kosovo.
