The International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB) is held annually on 22 May.

IDB’s global theme for 2018 is Celebrating 25 Years of Action for Biodiversity, in order to (a) mark the 25th anniversary of the entry into force of the Convention on Biological Diversity, and (b) highlight progress made in achieving its objectives at national and global levels.

IDB aims to raise awareness and understanding of issues related to biological diversity.

Today, Man’s habitats are being degraded, leading to a reduction in bio-diversity. This directly affects human well-being, poverty reduction, and global sustainable development.

IDB highlights possible strategies to protect bio-diversity and the variety of life on the planet.
Connecting Natural Values & People (CNVP) is a leading international civil society organisation that uses evidence-based analysis to improve the sustainable livelihoods of rural communities within the ongoing process of environmental and climate change.
