Regional Just Transition Conference

On the 18th and 19th of May 2022, the two-day online event "Regional Just transition Conference" was organised by Eko-svest, Macedonian Young Lawyers Association and CNVP Macedonia.
This two-day conference aimed to gather relevant stakeholders from the Balkan region for a set of four discussion panels and one side event. The objective was to enable stakeholders to share their experiences and concerns while having in mind both driving the economies of the region forward and ensuring the needed transition in the energy sector is just. 
The online conference started with presentations by Ms. Maria Melbing - Head of the Western Balkans and Turkey Department Sida- Styrelsen för Internationellt Utvecklingssamarbete and Dr. Anna Sobcak DG ENER. 
The speakers from the Swedish International Cooperation Agency - SIDA, European Environmental Bureau - EEB, Ministry of Economy, CEE Bankwatch Network and WorldBank were discussing about the challenges of equitable transition, social dialogue and shared experiences, commenting on European and regional initiatives and commitments for fair transitions and climate change. 
On the second day, the mayor of Municipality Bitola presented the local aspects of the fair transition, which was significant for the municipality. Representatives from the organization Slow Food and the University of Stip also gave their presentations.
